      Excerpt The plant Ipomoea carnea Jacq (Family: convolvulacaea) have been traditionally used for many ailments including cancer, though information from organized search of published literature does not provide sufficient evidence for its antitumor activities, so we made an attempt to use Hydroalcoholic Extract of Ipomoea carnea (HAEIC) for studying anticancer activity by using both in-vitro & in-vivo method. The In-vitro anticancer activity of HAEIC was evaluated by the MTT assay method using Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) cell lines.

      Excerpt Leaf & stem extracts were fractionated & tested for activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, & Aspergillus niger. Isolated compounds from the same fraction were subsequently subjected to molecular docking with bacterial dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) enzyme, & minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined.
