Excerpt The ethanolic plant extract showed good activity against selected gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis,Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus werneri)gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas putida,Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruinosa,Proteus mirabiis,Klebsiella pneumonia)and fungal strain (candia albicans).The observations revealed significant zone of inhibition & supports to antimicrobial activity. The IC50 values calculated were >100μg/ml for ethanolic plant extract, 22.12μg/ml for standard drug 5-fluorouracil.These findings revealed that the ethanolic extract of Ipomoea quamoclit has cytotoxic, antioxidant & antimicrobial activities.
