      Excerpt The purpose of the present experimental study was to assess the antihyperglycemic activity of ethanolic extract of Linum usitatissimum seeds & Glycyrrhiza glabra roots with standard drugs metformin & glimepiride in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats model. Conclusions: This study indicates that the combination of both L usitatissimum & G glabra extracts have antihyperglycemic & anti hyperlipidemic effects in diabetic rats which might be useful for the search of dietary supplements inefficient management of Type-2 diabetes mellitus.

      Excerpt The intention of this systematic cell biological study was to analyze the effects of the Phytoestrogen-rich, ethanolic flax root extract (Linum usitatissimum) on human MCF-7 estrogen receptor positive breast cancer cells in order to identify the main antitumor action by focusing on adhesion & migration related features. In conclusion, the flax root extract exhibits antitumor potential for estrogen receptor positive breast cancer cells mainly by remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton, leading to significant reduction of migration & colony formation in vitro.
