      Excerpt The present study evaluates the effects of extract of Musa sapientum fruit (MSE) on ulcer index, blood glucose level & gastric mucosal cytokines, TNF-α & IL-1β & growth factor, TGF-α (affected in diabetes & chronic ulcer) in acetic acid (AA)-induced gastric ulcer (GU) in diabetic (DR) rat. CONCLUSION: MSE showed antidiabetic & better ulcer healing effects compared with OMZ (antiulcer) or INS (antidiabetic) in diabetic rat & could be more effective in diabetes with concurrent gastric ulcer.

Spreng., Crateva adansonii DC., Euphorbia hirta L. Of these five plant extracts, hydromethanolic extract of EHleaf twigs showed the best antioxidant activity both by DPPH (IC50 = 0.53 ± 0.04 μg extract / μg DPPH) and ABTS (C = 0.302 ± 0.003 μMET / g extract) methods.
