      Excerpt To determine the hypoglycemic activity, the crude extract was prepared in a suspension & administered (500 mg/kg, i.g.) in previously diabetic mice with STZ (120 mg/kg, i.p.), measuring blood glucose levels every week as well as the animals' body weight for six weeks. The diabetic mice + BF presented hypoglycemic effects in the third week of treatment, perhaps due to its secondary metabolites.
