    • Selon Chaves-Bustos EA (2022)

Extrait To determine the hypoglycemic activity, the crude extract was prepared in a suspension & administered (500 mg/kg, i.g.) in previously diabetic mice with STZ (120 mg/kg, i.p.), measuring blood glucose levels every week as well as the animals' body weight for six weeks. The diabetic mice + BF presented hypoglycemic effects in the third week of treatment, perhaps due to its secondary metabolites.

    • Selon Damasceno DC (2004)

Extrait Bauhinia forficata, commonly known as "paw-of-cow", is widely used in Brazil folk medicine for the treatment of Diabetes mellitus. The diabetic pregnant rats presented hyperglycemia, hyperlipemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperuricemia, decreased determinations of reduced glutathione (GSH) & superoxide dismutase (SOD).

    • Selon Santos M (2019)

Extrait Several Bauhinia species are widely used in Southern South America in the treatment of infections, pain and several diseases including diabetes. The presence of kaempferitrin, an antidiabetic agent, has been confirmed.

    • Selon De Souza C (2004)

Extrait The antidiabetic activity of aqueous, ethanolic & hexanic extracts of Bauhinia forficata was investigated in a model of alloxan-induced diabetes in rats. The alloxan-diabetic rats showed significant reductions in plasma glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol & HDL-cholesterol after treatment with the extracts & Glibenclamide (used as standard) as compared to the diabetic controls.

    • Selon BREVET

Extrait WO2003011311A1 (s.d.) — extrait : The present invention relates to a plant extract from Bauhinia species with hypoglycaemic activity, which is characterized in being obtained from a Bauhinia species & to a method for producing the extract & the use of the extract in the treatment of diabetes type 2. Preparation of Bauhinia fortificata dry extract by hydroalcoholic extraction Hydroalcoholic extraction with ethanol 50 (v/v) 1 kg of dry milled leaves of Bauhinia fortificata and 6 L of hydroalcoholic solution 50% (v/v) are put in a glass reaction flask and heated under reflux around 1 hour, with continuously stirring.
