    • According to Srivastava R (2011)

Excerpt The ethanolic extract of seeds of Cuminum cyminum (C.c) was found to improve glucose tolerance to the tune of around 18.3% (P < 0.01) in normal rats and shows around 17.7% (P < 0.01) and 17.1% fall on blood glucose levels at 0–300 and 0–1440 min, respectively, on streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats at an oral dose of 250 mg/Kg body weight. The extract has also been found to improve around 26.7% (P < 0.01) glucose intolerance on 14th day post treatment in high fructose fed streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

    • According to MUSHTAQ A (2014)

Excerpt This study was carried out on albino rats to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of aqueous-ethanolic extract of Cuminum cyminum seeds. Results: There was a significant increase in serum Glutamic Pyruvic transaminase (SGPT), Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) & serum total Bilirubin (TB) level in intoxicated controls, which were restored towards normal in C cyminum (100, 200 & 300 mg/Kg, P.O.) treated animals.

    • According to Author (2005)

Excerpt In this study, we characterized the antioxidant activity of three commercially available cumin varieties, viz., cumin (Cuminum cyminum), black cumin (Nigella sativa) & bitter cumin (C. IC50 values of the methanolic extract of bitter cumin were found to be 0.32, 0.1 & 0.07 mg dry weight of cumin seeds on the lipoxygenase dependent lipid peroxidation system, the DPPH radical scavenging system & the rat liver microsomal lipid peroxidation system, respectively.

    • According to Gagandeep (2003)

Excerpt The effect of 2.5 & 5% cumin seed-mixed diets was also examined on carcinogen/xenobiotic metabolizing phase I & phase II enzymes, antioxidant enzymes, glutathione content, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), & lipid peroxidation in the liver of Swiss albino mice.

    • According to BHAT S (2014)

Excerpt Our objective was to evaluate the analgesic & anti-inflammatory activity of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Cuminum cyminum L. Both the aqueous & ethanolic extracts showed significant anti-inflammatory activity in Carrageenan-induced paw oedema & Cotton-pellet granuloma models when compared to the control group.

Excerpt Shiva Kumar SI et al Antiinflammatory activity of fruits of Cuminum cyminum Linn.

    • According to Nigussie D (2021)

Excerpt Outcomes were measured as the percentage of inflammatory & pro-inflammatory cell inhibition, as the percentage of carrageenan-induced oedema (anti-inflammation) inhibition, & the percentage of cell migration and proliferation (wound healing). The search strategy included all articles containing descriptors such as Ethiopia, medicinal plants, herbal products, care, management, lymphoedema, lymphedema, swelling, podoconiosis, elephantiasis, wound, wound healing, inflammation, an anti-inflammatory that were published until June 28, 2019.

    • According to Author (n.d.)

Excerpt The novel herbal composition(s) is useful in the treatment of various disorders, such as psoriasis including plaque psoriasis, gutatte psoriasis, pustular psoriasis & psoriasis of the nails; dermatitis & scleroderma; eczema; inflammatory disorders & other auto-immune diseases like psoriatic arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, irritable bowel disease, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus & Sjogren's syndrome; allergies like asthma & chronic obstructive pulmonary disease & is safe, well-tolerated, non-toxic, with minimal & reversible adverse reactions or side effects, & most Importantly, with minimal relapse or récurrence of the disease following complétion of a treatment regimen. BREVET : 20030194456A1 : The invention provides a novel herbal composition containing the extracts of the leaves and/or stem of Argemone mexicana plant, optionally containing the extracts of the fruits of Cuminum cyminum, which exhibits useful in vitro, in vivo & interesting immunological & pharmacological activities ; a process for preparation thereof & a method of treatment of psoriasis & related immunological & biological disorders by administration of the said novel herbal composition.

    • According to MUSHTAQ A (2014)

Excerpt This study was carried out on albino rats to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of aqueous-ethanolic extract of Cuminum cyminum seeds. Nimusolide, a 4-nitro-2-phenoxy methane Sulphanomide is very effective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID), but at higher doses it leads to hepatotoxicity.
