     Excerpt Findings in this study showed that this plant has Hypoglycemic properties & did not exert oxidative damage to the heart & the various hormonal profiles as well as its relative safety & possible use for weight gain. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of extracts of C citratus on the blood sugar level, lipid profiles & hormonal profiles of normal rats.

     Excerpt Effects of lemon grass extract (LGE) on hepatocarcinogenesis were examined in male Fischer 344 rats, administered diethylnitrosamine (DEN) at three weekly intraperitoneal doses of 100 mg/kg body weight & partially hepatectomized at the end of week 5. These results suggest inhibitory effects of LGE on the early phase hepatocarcinogenesis in rats after initiation with DEN,.
