      Excerpt The polyphenols & flavonoids content of the crude extracts & the fractions have been determined by colorimetric methods & the antibacterial activity by the macro-dilution using Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae & Escherichia coli strains. The objective of this study was to carry out a comparative of the antibacterial activity of flavonoids of crude extracts & fractions of the fruit of Voacanga africana & Tabernaemontana contorta on the germs responsible for diarrhea.

      Excerpt The goal of this study was to determine whether a phenotypic, cell-based screening approach can be applied to selected plants from STP (Voacanga africana, Tarenna nitiduloides, Sacosperma paniculatum, Psychotria principensis, Psychotria subobliqua) in order to identify natural compounds with multiple biological activities of interest for AD therapeutics. Results: An extract from the bark of Voacanga africana was more protective than any other plant extract in all of the assays (EC50sr2.4 mg/mL).
