      Excerpt When tested for their antioxidant activity none of the extracts showed a significant activity suggesting that the anti-inflammatory activity is not related to a direct free radical scavenging of the extracts. RESULTS: The results showed a similar anti-inflammatory activity (≈30%) for all extracts but only the EtOAc extract showed relevant activity when applied intraperitoneally.

Secondary metabolites from plant sources such as Cnidoscolus aconitifolius may be used as adjuvants in the prevention of diseases related to oxidative stress & inflammation such as NCDs.
