      Extrait When tested for their antioxidant activity none of the extracts showed a significant activity suggesting that the anti-inflammatory activity is not related to a direct free radical scavenging of the extracts. RESULTS: The results showed a similar anti-inflammatory activity (≈30%) for all extracts but only the EtOAc extract showed relevant activity when applied intraperitoneally.

In this paper, we describe the in vivo hepatoprotective & anti-inflammatory effects of the CHCl3: MeOH extract in chronic model and the isolation of additional compounds (moretenone & lupeol acetate).

      Extrait The ETOH extract had the highest anti-inflammatory activity, decreasing gene expression for TNF- by 39.78% & for IL-6 by 97.81%, & their production by 46% & 48.38%, respectively, in macrophages stimulated with LPS. Secondary metabolites from plant sources such as Cnidoscolus aconitifolius may be used as adjuvants in the prevention of diseases related to oxidative stress & inflammation such as NCDs.
