Selon Manoharan S (2009)
Extrait Diabetes mellitus was induced with streptozotocin & graded doses of the ethanolic bark extract (200 & 400 mg/kg, b.w.) were then administered to the experimentally diabetic rats. Objective: To evaluate the hypoglycaemic & anti-hyperglycaemic effect of ethanolic extract of CP bark in normal & streptozotocin induced diabetic rats.
-
Selon Kuete-Folié C (2018)
Extrait Parts of Ceiba pentandra are wildly used in Africa to treat diabetes and previous works have demonstrated their in vivo antidiabetic effects on type 1 diabetes models. But nothing is known about its effect on type II diabetes, especially on insulin resistance condition.

Selon Dzeufiet DS (2007)
Extrait The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of daily oral administration of root bark methylene chloride/methanol extract of Ceiba pentandra (Linn) in streptozotocin-induced type-2 diabetic rats, & the effect of this treatment on the physiological & metabolic parameters that are related in diabetic animals. The results of this experimental animal study indicated that CP possesses antidiabetic activity; & thus, is capable of ameliorating hyperglycaemia in streptozotocin-induced type-2 diabetic rats & is a potential source for isolation of new orally active agent(s) for anti-diabetic therapy.

Selon Wuyt AK (2023)
Extrait The antidiabetic effects of the methanol extract of the stem bark of Ceiba pentandra (Cp) have been demonstrated in various experimental models. Diseased animals were then orally treated with atorvastatin (80 mg/kg/d) or Cp (75 & 150 mg/kg/day) for 28 days during which food intake, body mass, blood pressure, heart rate, glucose, & insulin tolerance were monitored.

Extrait In the present study the aqueous, methanol, ethanol & acetone extract of Ceiba pentandra were screened for the presence of phytochemical components and tested for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterobacter aérogènes, Pseudomonas a aeruginosa, Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus epidermidis & Proteus vulgaris. The acetone extracts had wide range of antibacterial activity against bacterial pathogens than the ethanol & methanol extract, whereas aqueous extract was slightly higher antibacterial activity as ethanol extract.

Selon Chekuboyina RK (2012)
Extrait Oil extracted from Ceiba pentandra seed was studied to explore its suitability for ethnomedical uses with a special emphasis on its physiochemical characterization, antimicrobial behavior & Spectro-photometric parameters. Minimum inhibitory concentrations & minimum bactericidal & fungicidal concentrations of the seed oil varied between 3 to 10 mg/50 μL against all bacterial & fungal strains used in this study.

Extrait The antibacterial activities of the ethanolic extract of leaf (ELE), stem bark (ESE) & their combination (CLSE) were evaluated in vitro using selected human pathogens such as Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus & Escherichia coli. In spite of the numerous reports on medicinal potentials of Ceiba pentandra, the medicinal values of extract from the combination of the leaf and stem bark have not been adequately exploited.
