    • Selon Anu-Smitha K.M (2021)

Extrait The genus Ocimum belonging to the family Lamiaceae, have been widely used in traditional medicines for the management of inflammation, dysentery, & chronic diarrhea as well as insect bites. The study identified the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-genotoxic & anticancer properties of ultrasound-assisted extracted Ocimumplants, with higher activity in OB & OG species.

    • Selon Salles Trevisan M.T (2006)

Extrait The data generated with Ocimum species indicates that essential oils obtained from various herbs and spices may have an important role to play in cancer chemoprevention, functional foods, & in the preservation of pharmacologic products. purpurascens, Ocimum basilicum, Ocimum gratissimum, Ocimum micranthum, & Ocimum tenuiflorum, were evaluated using a high-performance liquid chromatography-based hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase & the DPPH assays.

    • Selon Ricarte L (2020)

Extrait The in vitro cytotoxic activities of the essential oils have been evaluated on breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7), lung carcinoma (NCI-H292), pro-myelocytic leukemia (HL-60), & cervical adenocarcinoma (HEP-2) human cell lines, & pro-myelocytic leukemia cells lines (HL-60) were found to be the most sensitive to all the EO tested than the others. The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from fresh leaves of Vitex agnus-castus & Ocimum campechianum, & from fresh inflorescences of Ocimum carnosum were analysed by GC-FID and GC-MS.

    • Selon Caamal-Herrera IO (2018)

Extrait The aqueous extract showed a significant (p < 0.05) antiproliferative effect on hFB cells at a concentration of 4%, with cell proliferation percentage values of 73.56% & 20.59% by MTT method & Trypan Blue assay, respectively; the same effect was observed for the ethanolic extract at concentration from 0.06% to 0.25% using MTT method & at a concentration from 0.125% to 0.25% using Trypan Blue assay. Conclusion: These assays showed that low concentrations of essential oil & extracts of OM leaves are sufficient to cause an antiproliferative effect on the hFB cell line but do not produce an antimicrobial effect against the microorganisms evaluated.

    • Selon Guardado-Yordi E (2022)

Extrait It is suggested to promote studies on multiple herbal remedies, & the antiproliferative & cytotoxic activities of the compounds, as well as new strategies that relate phytochemistry with bioactivity, toxicological evaluations on acute & long-term toxicity, mechanisms of action, pharmacodynamic, & pharmacokinetic studies. There is extensive ethnobotanical information on Ocimum campechianum as it is widely used by the natives of Central & South America & the Amazon.

    • Selon Hendra Dian (2022)

Extrait Ocimum is known to be one of the medicinal plants that have been used traditionally by local people. There have been many studies reporting the potential antibacterial activity of the Ocimum plant.

    • Selon Blessy-Jacob BP (2022)

Extrait This shampoo proved to give antibacterial property against Staphylococcus aureus. Accordingly in present work, we tracked down great properties for polyherbal shampoo. The main ingredients used in the formulation are Ocimum americanum oil, aloe vera gel, sodium lauryl sulphate, glycerine, gelatin, sodium chloride & bentonite.

    • Selon Caamal-Herrera IO (2018)

Extrait Methods: The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of essential oil & aqueous & ethanolic extracts of OM leaves against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa & Candida albicans was determined using the microdilution technique. In the case of S aureus, B subtilis, & P aeruginosa, the MIC of the aqueous & ethanolic extract was 125 μL/mL.

    • Selon Zaidi K.U (2018)

Extrait It is the causative agent & most associated with serious fungal infection, accounting for more than 90% of cases.

  3. Infección fúngica: Candida albicans

    Parte usada: Hoja.

    • Selon Hendra Dian (2022)

Extrait There have been many studies reporting the potential antibacterial activity of the Ocimum plant. The five species are known to contain many chemical constituents & have good antibacterial activity against several pathogenic bacteria.

    • Selon Parida R (2014)

Extrait The essential oil composition, In vitro antioxidant & antimicrobial activity of the EO of OA were evaluated in this research to explore its potential for future use. Conclusion: Both the antimicrobial & anti-oxidant activity of OA showed its potential for further use as natural antioxidant & preservative.

    • Selon Zaidi K.U (2018)

Extrait Candida albicans is the most prevalent fungal pathogen in humans. It is the causative agent & most associated with serious fungal infection, accounting for more than 90% of cases.

    • Selon Caamal-Herrera IO (2018)

Extrait Methods: The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of essential oil & aqueous & ethanolic extracts of OM leaves against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa & Candida albicans was determined using the microdilution technique. Results: Candida albicans was more susceptible to the ethanolic extract & the aqueous extract (MIC value of 5 μL/mL & 80 μL/mL respectively).

    • Selon Amber K (2010)

Extrait Holy basil, Ocimum sanctum (L.) is time-honored for its medicinal properties; however, its antimicrobial characteristics are used only in 'Ayurvedic medicines'. To put forward this approach, antifungal activity has been assessed in seventy-four fluconazole-sensitive & sixteen fluconazole-resistant Candida isolates.
