The results of this study concluded that the extract of F religiosa leaf could be proposed to protect the liver & kidney damage induced by Cisplatin.

      Extrait The present study was designed to investigate the hepato protective effect of methanolic extract of Ficus religiosa, on isoniazid-rifampicin & paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Administration of methanolic extracts of FR significantly prevented isoniazid-rifampicin & paracetamol induced elevation in the levels of serum diagnostic liver marker enzymes & TBARS level in experimental groups of rats.

      Extrait The ethanolic extract of the leaves & fruits of Ficus religiosa was evaluated for its antidiabetic activity in normal rats & alloxan induced diabetic rats. Fruit extracts were found to have no effect on normal rats while they were effective in lowering the elevated blood glucose level in experimental diabetic rats.

      Extrait In this study, 53 patients having diabetes mellitus were surveyed to find out the incidence of erectile dysfunction (ED). In both the diabetic and the non-diabetic subjects, Ashvattha provided encouraging results on ED as well as on seminal parameters in comparison to the placebo.

Conclusions: FR emerged as a good source of traditional medicine for the treatment of asthma, diabetes, diarrhea, epilepsy, gastric problems, inflammatory disorders, infectious disorders & sexual disorders.

      Extrait The present study was aimed to investigate the effect of Ficus religiosa in STZ-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy in rats. The eight-week treatment of FR started after induction of six weeks of diabetes, the treatment significantly improved diabetic markers, oxidative stress, inflammatory & cardiac markers.
