Extrait In streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice, we found that both LOE & β-sitosterol induced an anti-hyperglycemic effect comparable to that of Metformin, a drug that is commonly prescribed to treat diabetes. Raven (Onagraceae) extracts have historically been consumed as a healthful drink for treating various conditions, including edema, nephritis, hypotension & diabetes Aim of the study: We have previously shown that Ludwigia octovalvis extract (LOE) can significantly extend lifespan & improve age-related memory deficits in Drosophila melanogaster through activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).

Extrait sinensis displayed an inhibition of 85% (IC50 = 299 μg/mL), while Ludwigia octovalvis & Iostephane heterophylla showed the highest inhibition (82.7 %, IC50 = 202 μg/mL & 60.6%, CI50 = 509 μg/mL, resp.). This work shows the inhibitory effect on glucosidase & lipase enzymes of 23 medicinal plants described as traditional treatments for diabetes in several Mexican sources.

Extrait Furthermore, the experimental data obtained from rational clinical studies indicated that the methanol extract of the whole plant has found to possess potent anti-HIV, anti-diabetic, anti-diarrheal, anti- inflammatory, anti-pyretic, diuretic & psychopharmacological activities in several animal models.

Extrait The results indicate that the MTOH extract of whole plants of JS has potent hypoglycaemic potential in normoglycaemic rats & alloxan-diabetic rats. In alloxan-diabetic rats, the MTOH extract (400 mg kg−1) showed a significant anti-hyperglycaemic effect (P < 0.05) from 1.5 h after oral administration.

Extrait The aim of this study was to identify, quantify, & characterize the chemical compounds with the highest degree of inhibitory activity of these enzymes, contained in a Ludwigia octovalvis hydroalcoholic extract. Current antiobesity & antidiabetic tools have been insufficient to curb these diseases & frequently cause side effects; therefore, new pancreatic lipase & α-glucosidase inhibitors could be excellent aids for the prevention & treatment of these diseases.

Extrait Plants produce a wide variety of bioactive compounds with insecticidal properties, such as secondary metabolites capable of interfering with the nutrition & reproduction of pest species such as Plutella xylostella. The oviposition was significantly reduced in the kale leaves treated with aqueous & ethanolic extracts of Ludwigia spp.
