1. Gastroentérite, diarrhée causée par une infection virale

    Partie usitée : Rhizome.

    • Selon Samal P (2019)

Extrait Therefore, it was suggested that the rhizome & leaf extracts which proved to be potentially effective can be used as the natural alternative for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by Vibrio infection. In this concern, an investigation was carried out to evaluate the vibriocidal potential of the different solvent extracts of leaf & rhizome of Maranta arundinacea under in vitro condition.

    • Selon Rahman K (2015)

Extrait Our aim was to investigate the antidiarrheal & cytotoxic activities of methanolic extract of Maranta arundinacea linn. Antidiarrheal effect was evaluated by using castor oil-induced diarrhea, enteropooling, & gastrointestinal motility tests at 200 mg/kg & 400 mg/kg body weight in rats where the cytotoxic activity was justified using brine shrimp lethality bioassay at different concentrations of MEMA.

  2. Stress oxydatif

    Partie usitée : Rhizome.

    • Selon NNIshaa S (2012)

Extrait The ethanolic extract of M.arundinacea was screened for antioxidant activity using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydroxyl (DPPH) quenching assay, 2,2'-azinobis-3-ethy-benzothiozoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) cation decolorization test, Reducing power, scavenging capacity towards hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) radical, nitric oxide (NO) radical inhibition activity using established assay procedures and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) Assay. The Reducing power & Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) increased with increasing concentration of the sample.

    • Selon Ramadhani RM (2017)

Extrait Objective : Determine the effect of ethanolic extract of MA tubers against oxidative stress using the parameter of MDA, SGPT & SGOT level in ethanol-induced rats. Maranta arundinacea tubers contains phenolic, flavonoid, alkaloids & saponin compound that are potential as antioxidants.

    • Selon Ruba A Agnel (2013)

Extrait in the present study, in vitro antioxidant & free radical scavenging capacity of methanol extract from Maranta arundinacea rhizome were evaluated using established in vitro models such as DPPH, hydroxyl radical, superoxide radical, ABTS radical cation & reducing power. Thus, this study suggests that MA rhizome can be as a potent source of natural antioxidant.

    • Selon Rajashekhara N (2014)

Extrait arundinacea rhizome starch were studied after a single administration of up to three dose levels, with 4400 mg/kg as the maximum dose. The adaptogenic & anti-ulcer activities were assessed by determining & comparing the changes in rectal temperature, ponderal changes, ulcer index & histopathological parameters in the test drug group with that of stress control group.

  3. Cholera: Vibrio cholerae

    Partie usitée : Rhizome.

    Références scientifiques (courts extraits)

Courts extraits uniquement (pas le texte intégral de l’article). Fiches de référence complètes dans l’application Lapo v2.

    • Selon Samal P (2019)

Extrait For this, aqueous, methanolic, ethanolic & hexane extracts of both leaf & rhizome of M.A were tested against the pre-isolated strains of Vibrio cholerae such as SPAB1, SPAB4 & SPAB5 by agar well diffusion & minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method. In this concern, an investigation was carried out to evaluate the vibriocidal potential of the different solvent extracts of leaf & rhizome of Maranta arundinacea under in vitro condition.

Sowmya S et al Anti-termite properties of four selected species of Zingiberaceae rhizome extracts, The Jl of Zoology Studies, 3(2): 23-8, 2016-Abstract: Termites are a group of eusocial Isoptera insects. They cause serious damage to wood, plants, crops & forest plantation. Control of termites is a major concern. In the present study, rhizome extracts from four different varieties belonging to Zingiberaceae family were selected & checked for their insecticidal potential. Aqueous, ethanolic & petroleum ether extracts of Hedychium coronarium, Maranta arundinacea, A galanga & A calamus rhizome…
