Extrait This study, deals with antiproliferative activity of different solvent extracts, viz., n-hexane (S1), dichloromethane (DCM) (S2), & methanol (S3) of Acacia farnesiana pod on four cancer cell lines, viz., chronic myelogenous leukemia (K562), breast cancer (MCF-7), hepatocellular carcinoma (HePG2), colorectal adenocarcinoma (Colo 205), & DNA cleavage activity of the extracts on CT-DNA. Conclusion: The results indicated that the extract of AF pod (n-hexane & methanol) has antiproliferative properties & the DNA cleavage studies performed on CT-DNA was found that the extracts & its fractions showed significant activity at the concentrations tested.

Extrait Four new diterpenes, acasiane A ( 1), acasiane B ( 2), farnesirane A ( 3), & farnesirane B ( 4), along with three known diterpenes ( 5 - 7), two triterpenes ( 8 & 9), & eight flavonoids ( 10 - 17) were isolated from the roots of Acacia farnesiana. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxic activities against six human cancer cell lines (Hep G2, Hep 3B, MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, A549, & Ca9 - 22) with the MTT method.
