      Extrait The present study was designed to investigate antidiarrhoeal potential of combined 70% hydro ethanolic extracts of Acalypha hispida, Acalypha nervosa & Acalypha fruiticosa Castor oil introduced diarrhoea in wister rats.phyto chemical screening of the plant extract for their active constituents was also carried out using standard procedures. Oral administration of combibned hydro ethanolic extract of AH, AN & AF & dose dependently delayed the onset of diarrhoea induced by castor oil & also significantly reduced the number of diarrhoeal episodes and number of animals exhibiting diarrhoea.

      Extrait Aim: In this study, the aerial part (stems, leaves & flowers) of Acalypha indica (Family: Euphorbiaceae) was cold-extracted using ethanol solvent, & the anticancer activity was assessed using breast cancer cell line, MDA-MB-231. Conclusion: Thus, this preliminary study indicates that the ETOH-extracted AI aerial parts can be used to treat breast cancer.

      Extrait The present exploration reports an extensive evaluation of in vitro anticancer efficacy of a novel aqueous ethanolic extract of Acalypha indica (ETAI) loaded chitosan-casein (CS-CT) microparticles in a cancer cell line model. Percentage of cytotoxicity also demonstrated by LDH assay, which shown the concentration dependent leakage of LDH from PC3 cells exposed to free ETAI & CS/CT/ETAI microparticles The use of significantly low concentration of AI loaded with CS/CT is a much better approach in comparison to the use of free ETAI for cancer treatment in future,.

      Extrait Antileishmaniasis & phytotoxicity of the methanolic extracts of the stem & leaves of three Nigerian medicinal Acalypha species namely: Acalypha hispida, Acalypha torta & Acalypha wilkesiana was evaluated in vitro, as part of the screening of ethno - medically useful plants from the Nigerian flora as source for bioactive compounds. It has also been observed that bioactive & natural antitumor compounds can inhibit the growth of Lemna minor.
