      Extrait Antidiabetic activity using 100 mg/kg & 200 mg/kg of formulation was studied in streptozotocin induced diabetic albino Wistar rats. A polyherbal formulation was prepared containing herbs reported to have good antidiabetic activity & widely used traditionally in India by the folklore for the treatment of diabetes since ages.

      Extrait The present study evaluates the efficacy of ethanolic extract of Boerhaavia diffusa (BD) administered orally at a dose of 500mg/kg body weight for a period of 30 days to alloxanized diabetic rats & its efficacy compared with the standard hypoglycaemic drug Metformin. Administration of BD not only maintained the ionic balance & renal Na+-K+ ATPase activity but also significantly minimized diabetic hyperglycaemia.

      Extrait This article is based on a study in which the antibacterial activity of aqueous, methanolic, ethanolic & acetonic extracts of eight medicinal plants were evaluated by standard disc diffusion method against multidrug resistant Escherichia coli & Salmonella spp. The results have indicated that the ethanolic extract of Boerhaavia diffusa showed maximum zone of inhibition against Escherichia coli, while Asparagus racemosus showed maximum zone of inhibition against Salmonella spp.

      Extrait Extracts of leaves of Alchornea cordifolia, Boerhavia diffusa & Bridelia micrantha were investigated for antibacterial activity against Helicobacter pylori, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella enteritidis, Shigella flexneri & Entero-haemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC).
