Extrait The aim of present study was to assess the protective effect of turnip root ethanolic extract (TREE) on early hepatic injuries in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. It seems that TREE has protective effect on early diabetic hepatopathy in the rats with experimentally induced diabetes.

Extrait This study aimed to elucidate the role of turnip (Brassica rapa) on fructose-induced metabolic syndrome. It also reduced levels of blood GSH and liver glycogen.

Extrait The antidiabetic efficacy of turnip (Brassica rapa) roots ethanol extract (TE) was investigated in type 2 diabetic animals. TE and RG improved the glucose and insulin tolerance & lowered the blood glycosylated hemoglobin, plasma insulin, C-peptide and glucagon levels as well as reversed this hepatic glucose regulating enzyme activities in db/db mice.

Extrait A study was conducted to determine whether the ethanol extract of the roots of Brassica rapa (EBR) ameliorates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in terms of oxidative stress, as characterized by lipid peroxidation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, & glutathione (GSH) depletion in LLC-PK1 cells. Taken together, our data indicate that the ethanol extract of the roots of Brassica rapa (EBR) has a protective effect against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity because it attenuates oxidative stress.

Extrait The antidiabetic efficacy of turnip (Brassica rapa) roots ethanol extract (TE) was investigated in type 2 diabetic animals. Conclusions: We suggest TE may exert an antidiabetic effect in type 2 diabetic mice by enhancing the glucose & lipid metabolism.
