      Extrait hirta decoction prepared by boiling the fresh entire plant in distilled water for 15 minutes was lyophilized and the resulting solid was dissolved in distilled water & used to determine total phenolics and to prepare stock solutions administered to thrombocytopenic rats. The antithrombocytopenic effect of the solution of the lyophilized decoction of Euphorbia hirta was investigated in Sprague-Dawley rats with subnormal platelet counts induced by ethanol.

      Extrait Ethanolic extract of Euphorbia hirta Linn was prepared and tested for its hepatoprotective effect against CCl4induced hepatitis in rats. Treatment with Ethanolic extract of Euphorbia hirta Linn (100 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg) has brought back the altered levels of biochemical markers to the near normal levels in the dose dependent manner.
