     Extrait KARUNAKAR H et al, evaluation of antidiabetic activity of hydroalcoholic extract of Chrysophyllum Caïmito fruit, Int J of Pharmaceut Sci & Res, 90 :24, 2015- ABSTRACT; Anti-diabetic activity of hydro-alcoholic extract of Chrysophyllum cainito fruits (CCE) was investigated against experimentally induced diabetics in rats using alloxan & streptozotocin (STZ). The present study concluded that CC fruits were found to be effective plant against alloxan & streptozotocin induced diabetes & also help in preservation of islet cells.

Both the lower (200 mg/kg) & higher dose (400 mg/kg) of CCE showed a dose dependent significant decrease in blood glucose level, triglyceride, cholesterol levels & LDL & an increase in HDL in the treated diabetic rats when compared with diabetic control.
