      Extrait In this study, the inhibitory activities of phytosterols & saccharides from aqueous extract of Costus spicatus rhizome were investigated against phosphoenol-pyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), α-amylase, β-glucosidase, & fructose 1,6-biphosphatase (FBPase) in silico as potential novel therapeutic targets for T2DM-associated-PCOS. Insulin resistance is the hall mark of PCOS as it predisposes the affected subjects to a higher risk of impaired glucose tolerance & type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Oral administration of effect of ECS to diabetic induced rats at dosage of 500 mg/kg body weight resulted during significant decrease of elevated blood glucose & hepatic transaminase enzyme levels, at different treatment period (0 th day, 28 th day & 45 th day) which also showed the structural changes in cytoarchitecture of STZ induced diabetic rats.

The study found that the CS leaf extract was effective in improving the antioxidant activity of important parameters such as SOD, CAT, GPx, & GR, & protected against hyperglycemia and oxidative damage in type 2 diabetes-induced hepatorenal functions both in vitro & in vivo .

      Extrait rubrum, Microsporum gypseum & Epidermophyton floccosum, the higher activity being against M. These results suggest, for the first time, the antifungal effectiveness of CS leaves, namely of a flavonoid-rich fraction, for dermatophytosis which are referred to as „tinea “infections.
