      Extrait 50% ethanolic extract of C amada (CAE) (100 & 200mg/kg) hepatoprotective efficiency was examined against paracetamol (1000 mg/kg) induced hepatotoxicity, elevated hepatic enzymes alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), & alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total bilirubin direct bilirubin content in the serum. rhizome of Curcuma amada are selected to allocate the hepatoprotective activity in scientifically approbate experimental models.

      Extrait The scope of this study is to evaluate the hepatoprotective efficacy of rhizome Curcuma Amada Roxb (CAR) in CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity in rats. The histological architecture of liver sections in Group-IV–VI showed more or less normal lobular pattern with mild degrees of fatty change, necrosis & lymphocyte infiltration almost comparable to those of control group.

Antioxidants & the markers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigens (CAs) 125, gamma glutamyl transferase (GTT) were assayed in serum and the tissue was used for analyzing tumor burden & sectioned for histopathological assays.10% tissue homogenate was estimated for antioxidants & membrane-bound enzymes.

All of the isolates were evaluated for their antiproliferative activities against a small panel of five different human cancer cell lines (A549, human lung cancer; HeLa, human cervical cancer; MCF7, human breast cancer; PANC-1 & PSN-1, human pancreatic cancer).
