      Extrait In this study, the antimicrobial activity of the plant crude extract from seven different solvents (acetone, chloroform, diethyl ether, ethanol, ethyl acetate, methanol, and n-pentane) was investigated against some pathogens (Bacillus Cereus, B subtilis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, & S pneumonia) using disc diffusion method & thin-layer chromatographic (TLC) bioassay for plant-SPE extracts against A niger. The antimicrobial study revealed broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity from ethanol (7.0–10.0 ± 0.0–1.0 mm) & ethyl acetate (7.0–12.0 ± 0.0–1.0 mm) extracts against all of the bacterial pathogens.

      Extrait Fatty acids (palmitic acid & linoleic acid) along with their methyl esters (ethyl palmitate, ethyl linoleate & ethyl oleate) & other derivatives (duomo-γ-linoleic acid) were the main identified constituents shortly after drying procedures; however, other components such as 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, maltol, retinol & phytol were also traced. Based on the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay, the IC50 values were generally higher (significance level of 0.05) for oven-dried rhizome compared with shade-dried leaves & rhizomes that quenched more than 84% of the DPPH at the concentration of 400 mg/ml (IC50 59.12).
