Selon Xia Y (2013)
Excerpt The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the anti-fibrotic effects of wedelolactone on activated human hepatic stellate cell (HSC) line LX-2 & the possible underlying mechanisms by means of MTT assay, Hoechst staining, as well as real-time quantitative PCR & western blot. Wedelolactone is a major coumarin of Eclipta prostrata, which is used for preventing liver damage.

Selon Singh B (1993)
Excerpt An alcoholic extract of freshly collected Eclipta alba exhibited dose-dependent (62.5–500.0 mg/kg p.o.) significant hepatoprotective activity against carbon tetrachloride-induced liver injury in rats & mice. K (2011) — extrait : Eclipta Alba is small branched annual herbaceous plant with a long History of traditional medicines uses in many countries especially in tropical and subtropical regions. The present study confirmed the antibacterial potential of aerial parts extracts of E alba in solvents like acetone, ethanol, methanol, aqueous & hexane against selected gram positive & gram-negative bacterial species.

Selon Vasuki R (2012)
Excerpt A comparative analysis in evaluating the hepatoprotective action of ethanolic extract of Eclipta alba (EAE) & Piper longum (PLE) with their combination Biherbal extract (BHE) against carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4) induced hepatic damage is reported in albino rats. The results strongly indicate that BHE has more potent hepato-protective action than EAE or PLE individually against CCl 4 induced hepatic damage in rats.

Excerpt BREVET : 3525363A1-Allemagne-1985: Process for the preparation of extracts of Eclipta alba standardized for wedelolactone and/or desmethyl-wedelolactone and use of the extracts for the preparation of a liver therapeutic : The invention relates to a process for the preparation of extracts of Eclipta alba standardized for wedelolactone and/or desmethy-lwedelolactone, which is characterized by the following stages: (a) extraction of the dried, pulverized above-ground constituents of the plant Eclipta alba with methanol and/or ethanol (b) digestion of the alcohol extract freed from the solvent with water at a temperature of up to 80 DEG C, (c) filtration of the aqueous extract, (d) extraction by shaking of the aqueous extract with an inert organic solvent which is poorly miscible or immiscible with water, (e) performance of a qualitative and quantitative HPLC standardization of the enriched fraction obtained

according to (a) to (d) under the following conditions
Excerpt use of a column packed with reverse phase and acid-containing acetonitrile/water mixtures or methanol/water mixtures as the solvent, & use of the external standard method for the quantitative determination of wedelolactone and/or desmethyl-wedelolactone by means of their peak surface areas. An extract standardized in this way can be used for the preparation of an antihepatotoxic & hepatoprotective medicament.

Selon Ananthi J (2003)
Extrait Eclipta alba, an indigenous medicinal plant, has a folk (Siddha & Ayurvedha) reputation in rural southern India as a hypoglycemic agent. In order to confirm this claim, the present study was carried out to evaluate the antihyperglycemic effect of E.A & to study the activities of liver hexokinase & gluconeogenic enzymes such as glucose-6-phosphatase & fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase in the liver of control & alloxan-diabetic rats.

Extrait the hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol & water extract of aerial parts of the Eclipta prostrata were tested for its antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus. Highest activity of both antibacterial & antioxidant was observed only in ethanol & ethyl acetate extracts, while hexane & water extracts did not show any significant results.
