Selon Nayak BS (2015)
Extrait The plant Gmelina arborea has been traditionally used in India for several medicinal purposes like anthelmintic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial & antidiabetic. The antidiabetic activity of above extracts was evaluated in alloxan induced diabetic model of Wistar rats.

Selon Pattanayak P (2011)
Extrait In the present investigation we have screened the Benzene, chloroform ethanolic, & aqueous extracts of the heart wood bark of the plant Gmelina arborea (family Verbenaceae) for antidiabetic activity in Streptozotocin (STZ) induced Diabetic rats and emphasized the mechanism of its antidiabetic property. The observed significant antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extract could be attributed to the increased blood GSH levels reinforcing the role of GSH as free radical scavenger & in the repair of free radical caused biological damage.

Selon Kulkarni YA (2013)
Extrait To study the effects of aqueous extract of Gmelina arborea bark on normoglycemic levels & streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetes in rats. The diabetic animals were divided into four groups containing six in each: Group I diabetic control, Group II & III treated with the aqueous extract respectively at a dose of 250 & 500 mg/kg body weight once daily & Group IV treated with Glibenclamide at a dose of 0.6 mg/kg body weight once daily.
