Extrait Aim of the study : The aim of this paper is to investigate the anti-inflammatory potential & molecular mechanism of HL against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced macrophages & in vivo HCl/EtOH-induced gastritis mucosal injury models. Conclusions: Cumulatively, these results demonstrated that HL exerts eminently anti-inflammatory activities in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells in vitro & in HCl/EtOH-induced gastritis mice models in vivo.

Extrait Seven undescribed Amaryllidaceae alkaloids classified into four types, including the plicamine-type, secoplicamine-type, belladine-type & pretazettine-type, along with another three alkaloids that have not been isolated from plant material & seven known alkaloids, were isolated from the bulbs of Hymenocallis littoralis (Jacq.) Salisb. The isolated alkaloids were screened for antiproliferative activity against four human tumour cell lines (HepG2, HeLa, SPC-A-1, FaDu) through MTT assay, & some alkaloids exhibited potent cytotoxicity.

Extrait The present study reports that the screening of antimicrobial activity of Tinospora cordifolia & Hymenocallis littoralis, medicinal plant’s extracts with various different plant parts such as bulb, root, leaves & stem against the opportunistic organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella Typhimurium & fungi Candida albicans using agar well diffusion method & Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). littoralis against Escherichia coli followed Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella Typhimurium, Candida albicans produced highest zone of inhibition at 24mm followed by 21mm, 18 mm, 17mm & 17mm respectively.
