Extrait In the current study, potentially drug-resistant HIV was isolated & previously unreported anti-viral activity of Jatropha curcas leaf extracts was assessed. Post-infection (4 isolates) interaction studies showed IC50 values ranging from 0.0255-0.4137 mg/mL & 0.00073-0.1278 mg/mL for Aqueous & Methanolic Extracts respectively & pre- infection (1 isolate) interaction studies showed 100% inhibition by Methanolic & 97.19% inhibition by Aqueous Extract at 25 mg/mL each.

Extrait The anticoccidial activity of Phyllanthus amarus (Hurricane weed), Jatropha curcas (purging nut) & Piliostigma thonningii (monkey bread) was tested on seventy-five Eimeria tenella infected Isa-brown male day-old chicks in a completely randomized design as an alternative measure of controlling coccidiosis. The first, second & third groups received, the decoction of Phyllanthus amarus, Jatropha curcas & Piliostigma thonningii, ad libitum respectively for five days post-inoculation as drinking beverage.
