      Extrait Current study evaluated the possible protective efficiency of Lepidium sativum seed extract on fasting blood sugar (FBS) & then assessed histopathological change of epididymis in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Group 3 were diabetic rats receiving insulin in dose 3U/100 g body weight & Groups 4 & 5 were diabetic rats that received 0.1 cc of 200 & 400 mg/kg‚ ethanol extract of LS seed by gavages daily.

      Extrait Hepatoprotective effect of the Lepidium sativum ethanolic extract (LSEE) was assessed by D-galactosamine-induced/ lipopolysaccharide (400 mg/kg & 30 μg/kg) liver damage model in rats. Fulminant hepatic failure (FHF) is clinical syndrome with very poor prognosis & high mortality there is urgent need for the development of safe & non-toxic hepatoprotective agents for the adequate management of hepatitis.

      Extrait Lepidium sativum is an annual plant grown in many regions of Saudi Arabia. Liver parenchyma in the form of vascular dilation & congestion of central & portal veins were observed in low doses (2 & 4 mg mL-1) given for 3 weeks, High doses given for 3 weeks showed peri-portal fibrosis & peri-vascular edema.
