Selon Sarkar P (2011)
Extrait This study was designed to investigate the Anti-diabetic activity of an ethanolic extract of the root of Mirabilis Jalapa which is widely being used in Himalayan region as a traditional treatment for diabetic mellitus. Ethanolic extract of Mirabilis Jalapa (EEMJ) (10mg/kg & 20mg/kg) were administered as a single dose per day to the streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats for 12 days.

Extrait Rats were divided into following groups: normal group, model group, ethanolic extract of MJ roots group(1,2,4 g · kg-1) & rosiglitazone group(4 mg · kg-1).After 8-weeks treatment, fasting blood glucose( FBG), hemoglobin(HbAlC), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), serum insulin(FINS) levels & glycogen contents in liver & skeletal muscle were assayed. To investigate the effects of ethanolic extract of Mirabilis jalapa roots on glucolipid metabolization in diabetic rats.

Selon Zhou JY (2012)
Extrait The present study investigated the insulin sensitivity, hypoglycemic, & hypolipidemic activities of ethanolic extract of Mirabilis jalapa L. Both after & before induction of diabetes, repeated administration with 4, 8 g/kg EEM continually lowered blood glucose level, decreased serum insulin level & improved insulin sensitivity index, & lowered serum total cholesterol, triglyceride levels & triglyceride content in liver & skeletal muscle, & increased glycogen content in these tissues; but repeated administration had no influence on those indexes of normal mice.

Selon Luo LS (s.d.)
Extrait To study the effect of the extract of Mirabilis jalapa root on the blood glucose of normal mice & diabetes mice induced by adrenaline & glucose. Methods:High blood glucose model mice were made by 160μg/kg adrenaline solution & 10% glucose solution. The hypoglycemic effect of the extract of MJ root on the blood glucose of the model mice was observed. Results:The low, middle & high dose of the extract of MJ root had no effect on the normal mice (P0.05), but the high dose of the extract could lower the blood glucose levels of the adrenalin & high blood glucose mice( P0.05).

Selon Rout S (2012)
Extrait Results: The fasting blood glucose level in normoglycemic, hyperglycemic and in oral glucose tolerance test, showed a significant (p<0.05) decrease at defined time points, while the observed biochemical & physical parameters showed a good agreement with antihyperglycemic property of the extract. Antidiabetic potential was assessed by the measurement of fasting blood glucose, Serum Lipid Profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides), physical parameters (body weight, food & water intake) & Oral Glucose tolerance test.
