Orthosiphon extracts have been found to be cytotoxic to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells, which is attributed to their phytochemical content.

     Extrait In streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, only the group treated with 1000 mg/kg of the extract showed significantly (P < 0.05) lower plasma glucose levels after starch loading. stamineus can be considered as a potential agent for the management of diabetes mellitus.

     Extrait Antiviral activity was tested against the herpès simplex type-1 (HSV-1) & Vesicular stomatitis (VSV) viruses & cytotoxicity was assayed using the HeLa cell line.
