Extrait The anticarcinogenic activity of these extracts were evaluated by their effect on tumour incidence, levels of carcinogen metabolizing enzymes, levels of liver cancer markers and liver injury markers. Extracts of Emblica officinalis (EO), Phyllanthus amarus & Picrorhiza kurroa significantly inhibited hepatocarcinogenesis induced by N-Nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) in a dose dependent manner.

Extrait The blood sample were collected from the abdominal aorta & the serum insulin estimated by radio Immuno assay & regenerative capacity measured by thymidine kinase assay by 3H thymidine incorporation into hepatic DNA which showed that P amarus has a potential role in insulin action during liver cell regeneration. The hydroalcoholic extract of whole plant of Phyllanthus amarus showed significant increase in activity of insulin at 200 mg kg-1 dose in regenerative hepatocytes against alcohol induced liver cell injury in partially hepatectomized albino rats.

Extrait Results: The diabetic rats showed increased HbA1c, nitrite, MPO, calcium & decreased protein, Na+-K+ ATPase activity, NCV, acetylcholine, behavioural alterations and morphological changes of sciatic nerve so that diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is manifested. Diabetes-instigated nerve damage is a chronic complication including impaired peripheral nerve function with lowered nerve conduction velocity (NCV), demyelination of nerve fibres & alterations in the behaviour.
