    • Selon TOMA W (2003)

Extrait We evaluated the possible antiedematogenic, antinociceptive and/or sedative effects of four different extracts obtained from the bark of Quassia amara namely, 70% ethanol (70EtOH), 100% ethanol (100 EtOH), dichloromethane (DCM) & hexane extracts (HEX). However, when administered intraperitoneally, the HEX extract decreased the paw edema induced by carrageenan, showed antinociceptive effects on the hot-plate test & on acetic acid-induced writhing, & showed sedative effects on pentobarbital-induced sleep.

    • Selon Balakrishna A (2022)

Extrait Various studies indicate that QA possess different biological properties namely anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-hyperglycemic, anti-leishmanial, anti-malarial, anti-nociceptive, anti-ulcer, anti-fertility & sedative. Quassia amara Linn., is a shrub & world widely known as 'bitter-wood' belongs to Simaroubaceae family.

    • Selon Kunnathodi F (2015)

Extrait Quassin is the major secondary chemical compound in it, which is under investigation as an anti-malarial compound.

    • Selon Reya E (2017)

Extrait Quassia amara Linn., famous as bitterwood or quassia, is a neotropical forest shrub indigenous to Northern Brazil. Indian Quassia, mostly seen in northern & eastern states, is a source of numerous compounds including b – carbonile, cantin-6 alkaloids & primarily, the bitter compounds known as quassinoids.

    • Selon Raji Y (s.d.)

Extrait The effect of Quassia amara extract & two isolated compounds from the extract, quassin & 2- methoxycathine-6-one on haematological parameters was studied in rats. The results suggest that quassia extract possesses Antianaemic property.

  2. Infection fongique : C.andida albicans, C. parapsilosis, C. glabrata , C. krusei, Malassezia furfur

    • Selon Diehl C (2016)

Extrait Contrarily, QWE had no effect on the growth of Chlamydia trachomatis, but uniquely altered the morphology & quantity of chlamydial inclusions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that QWE is shown to have antiparasitic activity on Trichomonas vaginalis & Demodex spp, an antifungal activity on Malassezia furfur & Candida spp & an antibacterial activity on P. krusei, the latest at a lesser extent, & Malassezia furfur isolated from samples of infected patients, inhibiting the growth of fungi in both a time- & dose-dependent manner. The antibacterial activity of QWE was demonstrated in cultures of P.

    • Selon AJAIYEOBA EO (2003)

Extrait AJAIYEOBA EO et al, Antibacterial & antifungal activities of Quassia undulata & Quassia amara extracts in vitro.

    • Selon Obembe OO (2020)

Extrait Quassia amara stem bark has been reputed to have strong antimalarial, antimicrobial, antiulcerative & amoebicidal properties. (2009) — extrait : With respect to Plasmodium falciparum erythrocytic stages, SkD was almost inactive on earlier & later parasite stages, but potently active at the 30th h of parasite cycle when DNA replicates in mature trophozoites. Quassinoid compound Simalikalactone D (SkD) has been shown to be one of the molecules responsible for the antiplasmodial activity of a watery preparation made out of juvenile fresh leaves of this plant.

Extrait AJAIYEOBA EO et al, Antibacterial & antifungal activities of Quassia undulata & Quassia amara extracts in vitro.

    • Selon Diehl C (2016)

Extrait acnes & coagulase- positive Staphylococci where the growth of the bacteria was reduced in a significant manner (p<0.05) & at a lesser extent in cultures of coagulase-negative Staphylococci where the growth inhibition was not statistically significant. Quassia amara is a plant of the family Simaroubaceae of Northern Brazilian origin. Its use in folk medicine is widespread, especially as an antiparasitic, antifungal & antibacterialagent.

    • Selon Obembe OO (2020)

Extrait Quassia amara stem bark has been reputed to have strong antimalarial, antimicrobial, antiulcerative & amoebicidal properties.

    • Selon Evans DA (1991)

Extrait Crushed aqueous extracts of leaf, wood, bark & flowers of Quassia amara showed antilarval activity against C quinquefasciatus. This compound is an unsaturated lactone & it gave a positive response to the Legal test, characteristic of unsaturated lactones. (2009) — extrait : With respect to Plasmodium falciparum erythrocytic stages, SkD was almost inactive on earlier & later parasite stages, but potently active at the 30th h of parasite cycle when DNA replicates in mature trophozoites.
