Extrait This study concludes that SS leaf extract exhibits a hypoglycemic effect and antihyperglycemic effect in non-diabetic rats after induction of hyperglycemia with 2 g/kg bw. orally had significantly decreased blood glucose by 50.32 and 47.29 % per hour when compared with rats treated with insulin stimulating substance, glibenclamide (10 mg/kg bw.; P< 0.05).

Extrait Hassan IA et al, Phytochemical studies & thin layer chromatography of leaves & flower extracts of Senna siamea Lam for possible biomedical applications, J of Pharmacogn & Phytother, 7(3):18-26, 2015-Abstact: Senna siamea is a medium-size, evergreen plant which has been utilized as a source of food, medicine & other agricultural purposes in different communities. From our findings, it can be concluded that SS contains some significant phytochemicals that can exhibit desired therapeutic activities such as hypoglycemia, anti-arrythmia & antimicrobial.

Extrait Findings therefore, recommend the use of SS leaf in the treatment of enteric fever in traditional medicine. This study was aimed at investigating the phytochemical constituents of ethanolic extract of Senna siamea leaf & also to determine its antimicrobial activity on some Enterobacteriaceae which include Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis & Klebsiella pneumonia, using agar disc diffusion method.

Selon Dahiru D (2013)
Extrait The study confirms the use of SS leaf in the treatment of enteric fever in traditional medicine in different parts of the world. This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity of different extracts (acetone, ethanol & water) & ethanol fractions (chloroform, ethyl acetate & n-butanol) of Senna siamea leaf on selected microorganisms, Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa & Salmonella typhi using the agar well diffusion method.
