The results obtained showed that the compound isolated from ethyl acetate fractions of C sativus flowers can be considered as good sources of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory & can be incorporated into the drug formulations.

Materials & methods: Antimicrobial activities of petroleum ether (40-60ºC), benzene, chloroform, ethanol & water extracts of the fruits of C sativus have been investigated against both bacteria & fungi using the disc diffusion method.
