Levels of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes such as cytochrome (Cyt) P450 & Cyt b5, activities of reduced glutathione (GSH), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), aspartate amino transaminase (AST), alanine amino transaminase (ALT) & alkaline phosphatase (ALP), & total protein and cholesterol content in the liver tissues were measured to determine the hepatotoxicity caused by DENA.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of repeated oral administration of the ethanolic extract of E neriifolia Linn at a dose of (200 and 400 mg/kg) on fasting blood glucose levels and lipid metabolism in streptozotocin induced type-2 diabetic rats.
